Introduction
Soothe is a concept mental wellness mobile application designed to support young adults in building emotional awareness through habit-based design.
Research shows that digital mental health tools can help young people monitor and manage their emotions effectively, but their impact depends on accessibility, usability, and integration into daily routines. With Soothe, I focused on creating a low-friction, emotionally safe experience that encourages small, consistent check-ins. The app combines habit-building, guided reflection, and personalized insights to help users gradually develop emotional resilience in a way that feels natural and manageable.
Problem Statement
Many young adults face challenges in maintaining consistent emotional awareness while managing daily stress. Access to mental wellness support can be limited, and without guidance, it can feel overwhelming to monitor emotions or engage in self-care. Additionally, the clinical tone of many mental health resources can make it harder for users to connect with and sustain healthy habits.

My Design process
Designing Soothe began with understanding how young adults engage with their emotions and what makes mental wellness feel approachable. I explored research articles and studies to gather insights on daily routines, emotional habits, and the barriers to consistent self-care.
From there, I brainstormed ways to create small, daily check-ins that build emotional awareness gradually. Early sketches and wireframes helped me test interaction patterns and refine flows for clarity and ease of use. Finally, I translated these concepts into a calm, accessible visual design, soft colors, gentle typography, and intuitive layouts that feel safe, supportive, and encouraging.
The process was guided by one principle: make emotional care simple, consistent, and personally meaningful for every user.
